Thanksgiving 2006
Well, we had another fun Thanksgiving at Lake Berryessa this year. We left at 1:00 on Wednesday with the RV and doggie and headed for Spanish Flat Resort. We arrived around 3:00 and set up camp and I began cooking our Thanksgiving dinner. I had already picked up a Honey Baked turkey breast and ham for dinner so I just needed to cook all of the fixin’s. Two hours and one melted dish later, we had an awesome dinner. I’m still surprised at how many pans I was able to fit into our tiny little RV oven. After dinner, we laid down to watch a movie and headed to bed.
Tate had to work on Thursday so he left early. I hung out with Winston all day. We went for a walk along the lake and Winston went swimming. It took forever for him to dry off, even with the blow dryer. I sat outside and read my book and watched a bunch of TV.
Friday, everyone from WakeWorld began to arrive. Walt & Richard arrived first and I ended up going wakeboarding with them. By the time we got back, everyone else had arrived including Tate with Steve and Anna in tow. I think this was the first time I went wakeboarding while Tate was at work J. After everyone set up camp, we all went out on the lake again. I didn’t wakeboard this time as I was cold and didn’t feel like climbing in the dry suit again. I know a lot of you think we are crazy for wakeboarding in the winter, but really, it’s no different than being in the snow. It’s the same kind of cold. Later that evening, Tate, Anna, Steve and I had a yummy crock pot roast for dinner. After dinner, we had a couple chocolate cake shots and headed out to the bon fire with everyone else. People were beer bonging (not me) and having a good time. At one point, I made it my mission to catch everyone peeing off the cliff.
Saturday morning everyone had breakfast and headed out for some more wakeboarding. Later that night, we had a big pot luck dinner and another bon fire. Tate and I went to bed early in anticipation of an early morning ride prior to heading home. Unfortunately upon waking up, the rain had begun so everyone just opted to head home. We got home early Sunday afternoon and was able to relax before starting the week.
In other news, we bought our Christmas tree last night and I started decorating the house. I hope to finish decorating the tree tonight or tomorrow.
Tate and several of our other friends have decided to take up snowboarding. They all bought new gear and equipment and will begin to spend many days this winter in Tahoe. Some of you may already know that I’m not all that fond of skiing or snowboarding but I have agreed to give it ONE MORE TRY before writing it off completely. We are planning on going up this Sunday. Stay tuned…
Have a great holiday season, we love you!
