First Visit to See the Puppies – Cali Goes to the Vet
Well, we spent yesterday driving… from 9:30 am – 8:30 pm. We drove to Lakeport, which seemed to take forever since we ran in to traffic, got pulled over (no ticket, thanks MOM!) and got stuck behind ridculously slow people. We didn’t arrive until after 12:30 and only had a few minutes to spend with the puppies becuase we had to be back on the road to take Cali to the vet in Roseville to get her pins removed by 3:00. Once that was done, we headed back to meet Liz in Williams to give Cali back.
The puppies were so darn cute! Just as we thought, the two blue females were were wearing the red and pink collars so when you see them in the pictures and video, just know that one of them is our little Roxie. For those who don\’t know, the breeder will decide when they are a bit older which one is ours since we will be the best option for future breeding and competition. The other little girl will go to San Diego to be a service dog.
Cali did well at the vet. They removed her pins and it seems that the tendon is still attached and is healing well. She re-wrapped the leg with just bandages with instructions to keep her confined for a while longer to give her a chance to get used to build the lost muscle tissue and to strengthen the tendon.
All in all, it was a long day, but worth it to see those adorable little balls of fuzz and smell that PUPPY BREATH! June 15th can’t get here soon enough! Please enjoy the updated slideshow below (newest pics at the beginning) and the three short video’s of the puppies, being puppies.
