Well, after a bit of a break in training due to Thanksgiving, Gar\’s root canal and busy schedules, we finally got back to training today.  We headed somewhere new this time and went to Mather Regional Park, well actually, just outside of there.  It\’s Air Force owned land and they will allow us out there for training but no shooting (blanks only). 

I met Gar and his 6 mo old GSP Blazer and Gar\’s friend Gary with his 5 mo old GSP.  We spent about an hour walking the fields letting the puppies play and tire themselves out. 

When we got back, we got out the birds and started to work.  Gar planted the bird and Roxie sniffed it out pretty quickly and pointed it.  YAY!  😀   Gar shot the pistol over her head and she didn\’t flinch one bit!  DOUBLE YAY!!  😆  😆  We did that a couple more times with great results.

Sandy, another trainer was also there with his GSP\’s and had been working them all morning.  He hung out with us a bit and brought over a bird for the dogs to touch and play with.  Roxie really liked this!  She got to carry it around a bit and brought it back to me when I called her.  She ended up killing it cause she bit down too hard.   🙁  But she didn\’t mangle it or chew it or run off with it.

All in all it was a GREAT day!  I can\’t wait to get out there again.  Here is a link to all the pics.
