Well, summer is just about over, oh wait, I think it ended last week! Yippee!! I love fall! I haven’t written in a while so here it goes, still unemployed, haven’t been running in 2 months, started diving again, started dating again, but if you know me at all, you already knew all of that.
Below are photos from this last weekend where I spent part of it in Tahoe scuba diving on Lake Tahoe and Donner Lakes. Unfortunately, I didn’t get much diving in on Tahoe as my drysuit leaked on the first dive making all my undergarments sopping wet. However I did get to dive at Donner Lake. Beautiful scenery at both locations and great company. You’ll see a giant pot of crawdads which we got from Tahoe during the night dive (that I didn’t get to go on). This made for a tasty midnight snack.
Then on Sunday, we attended the CWA Women’s Hunter Camp at Birds Landing. This was the same camp that I got my hunting license from a couple years ago and have continued to go back with Roxie to volunteer for the pheasant hunt with the brand new huntresses. This year, there were three new huntresses and two returning huntresses back for more fun and comradery. We hunted with Monique, a 2010 gratuate from this hunter camp. She is the shooter and the lucky lady with the pheasant that Roxie, Willow and Elle found for her.
The weather was perfect for hunting, cool and overcast keeping the humans and dogs nice and cool. Plus the birds were actually flying. This was Roxie’s first time out in… gosh, I can’t remember the last time she was out. I was worried that she would forget her skills, but alas, she didn’t. She remembered what to do and did a great job. Below are photos from today’s hunt. Most photos were taken by Holly Heyser.
That’s all for now! Have a great fall everyone!!!
